The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Streaking and Slumping Pitchers

Only three games on Monday and there aren’t really any hot arms to talk about. Here’s a look at a few starting hurlers for Monday who aren’t dealing their best stuff these days.

Slumping

Rodrigo Lopez (2-6, 4.70 ERA), Arizona Diamondbacks

If Arizona had any kind of depth to their starting rotation, Lopez would have been bumped to the bullpen a long time ago. The Mexican righty has delivered quality starts in just two of his last six appearances and Arizona is 0-5 in his last five outings.

A.J. Burnett (6-5, 4.33 ERA), New York Yankees

It’s been a month to forget for this Yanks starter. Burnett is 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA in 16 innings in June. Even worse, he’s been taken out of the park six times and he has almost as many walks (9) as he does strikeouts (10).

Gio Gonzalez (6-5, 4.21 ERA), Oakland A's

It’s been a rough go for the A’s most talented pitcher. Oakland is just 1-3 in Gonzalez’s last four trips to the mound and he owes a 6.04 ERA in June. He’s given up three home runs in his last two starts and he’s only pitched six or more innings once this month.

Hot Lines: Today's best MLB bets

New York Yankees at Arizona Diamondbacks (150, 10.5)

The Yankees had an eventful Subway Series with stars Derek Jeter and A-Rod suffering from injuries and pop star Lady Gaga making an surprise visit to the clubhouse.

She reportedly wore an unbuttoned Yankees jersey and a bikini bottom while fondling her breasts and drinking whiskey in the clubhouse following Friday's loss. Maybe she inspired the Bombers to win the next two over the hated Mets, but the circus ended Sunday.

Now the Yankees face a cross-country flight that more resembles an aeromedical evacuation mission. A-Rod and catcher Jorge Posada are still hindered by injuries and won't be able to play at DH. Struggling starter A.J. Burnett gets the green light despite getting hit in the foot by a liner in his last outing on Wednesday.

"I'll be ready to go Monday. Nothing hurt. It felt fine. ... It's night and day better than the last two day,." said Burnett, who stayed in the game and felt no immediate pain. "The next morning, I woke up, took my first step and almost fell down, so I'll never laugh at hitters again who foul a ball off their foot. It's not fun."

Meanwhile the Diamondbacks return home, where they actually have a winning record this season, healthier than they've been all season. Despite their recent losing slide, they are catching the Yankees at a good time and a nice price.

Pick: Diamondbacks

Cincinnati Reds at Oakland A's (-120, 8)

This 20th anniversary rematch of the 1990 World Series looks nothing like the Bash Brothers vs. the Big Red Machine. Medicated or not, the old guys could hit.

The A's have scored only 14 runs in their past five games, losing four of five. The Reds have managed only 13 in their last seven, going 1-6 during that span.

The hitting challenged teams face respectable pitchers in Cincy's Mike Leake and Oakland's Gio Gonzalez and neither lineup has seen the opposing pitcher in action before.

This has all the makings for a low-scoring snoozer, unless they bring Mark McGwire and Eric Davis out of mothballs.

Pick: Under

SOCCER NEWS AND NOTES
World Cup Second Round Monday Picks
By Al Simmons

Spain and Portugal will be looking on Monday to get back on track after disappointing first games at the World Cup.
In addition, Chile and Switzerland face each other in a clash of Group H winners.

Hera at my World Cup picks for the Monday games.

Portugal vs. North Korea – 7:30 AM - Green Point Stadium

This is it for Portugal. They know they have to win this one by as many goals as they can, or otherwise their dreams to be in the next round will be over.

Cristiano Ronaldo must step up, despite the fact that this one doesn´t appear to be an easy game, especially considering that North Korea gave Brazil some real headaches because of their defensive discipline.

Portugal -300
Draw +375
Korea +825
O/U 2
My pick: Bet the Over.

Chile vs. Switzerland – 10:00 AM - N. Mandela Bay

A match of first game winners, who knew? Chile is a better team that Switzerland but they failed to prove it.

The Europeans have an amazing defense and, listen to this, they haven´t allowed any goals in four World Cup games and are one game away from tying the record that belongs to Italy.

I expect this one to be really close with few goals.

Chile +130
Draw +210
Switzerland +225
O/U 2
My pick: Bet Chile plus the Under.

Spain vs. Honduras – 14:30 PM - N. Mandela Bay

I feel kind of sorry for Honduras. First of all, they should have been crushed by Chile but the South Americans failed to cover the many opportunities they created.

Now Spain will repeat the process. The problem is that they won´t fail. Expect the Spanish to outscore Honduras by at least four goals, especially now that they have blood in their eyes after the loss to Switzerland.

Spain -850
Draw +675
Honduras +2000
O/U 3
My pick: Bet the Over.

PICKS FOR KICKS

Today's Best World Cup Bets

Chile (+141) vs. Switzerland (+248)

This suddenly became the most important match in Group H. The winner would be in great shape to finish first in the group and avoid Brazil in the Round of 16. Of course all of that was made possible thanks to the Swiss’s shocking win over the defending European champs.

Switzerland ceded possession to Spain and scored on the one chance they had. Despite defeating second best team in the FIFA world rankings, Swiss coach Ottmar Hitzfeld agrees with the oddsmakers’ decision to make Chile as the favorites on Monday.

“This team really impressed me,” Hitzfeld told reporters. “Firstly in qualifying. Not many teams end up finishing above Argentina.

“Against Honduras, the Chileans were unbelievable and they could have won 3-0 or 4-0 instead of 1-0. They are a solid unit, with very fast players.”

Bettors have to wonder – was Chile’s strong showing an indication of their quality or just a hint at how overmatched Honduras are at this tournament?

We think Chile’s the real deal and they’ll show it against the Swiss on Monday.

Pick: Chile

Honduras (+2600) vs. Spain (-700)

The pressure is on for the Spaniards on a stage they’ve been, to a large degree, underwhelming. Critics came from all sides saying the Red Fury didn’t have the poise to come through in the clutch throughout Spain’s run to through the Euro 2008 championship – and for good reason.

While Spain have qualified for every World Cup since 1978, they’ve never advanced past the quarter-finals. The win at the Euro 2008 was supposed to cure the ultra-talented squad of their World Cup jitters.

But that’s not what we saw in their first match. Spain failed miserably to squash Switzerland’s one good scoring chance.

Much has been made about whether keeper and captain Iker Casillas was distracted with his girlfriend and Spanish reporter watching just behind the net. You can bet Spain won’t be sidetracked in their second match.

Spain know they can’t mess around any longer. A small win over Honduras will help them advance but it won’t keep them away from Brazil in the knockout round. Look for the Red Fury to start both Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas and to get out to a big lead early.

Pick: Spain on the spread (-2)

Hondo

CC and the Yankees kept Hondo's deficit out of four figures yesterday when they did a flush job on the Metamucils to put the NRN (nasty red number) at 885 nuxhalls.

Tonight, though the pickin's are slim, Mr. Aitch is counting on Leake to look out for No. 1 and hose the Athletics -- 10 units on the Reds.
